Data not collected
Privacy Policy
RenameStudio renames files and folders on your Mac. It does not collect, transmit, sell, or share personal information. There is no account, no advertising, no analytics, and no server.
This policy
This policy covers the macOS app RenameStudio, bundle identifier com.xiaocheng.renameflow, sold on the Mac App Store. The developer does not run an account system or a backend for the app.
Information we do not collect
RenameStudio does not collect your name, email address, phone number, contacts, Apple ID, or payment details. Apple processes the purchase. The app does not collect location from the Mac, usage analytics, crash reports, or advertising identifiers.
Filenames, file contents, and photo metadata are not sent to a server. The app has no network entitlement, so it cannot transmit data off your Mac.
What the app processes on your Mac
Processing starts only after you select or drop files and folders.
- Filenames, extensions, and the folders you selected, so the app can preview and apply a rename.
- Creation, modification, and access times, when you use date and time tokens in a name.
- Image metadata, when you turn on EXIF or XMP/IPTC tokens. From photos you select, this can include camera make and model, lens, exposure, dimensions, the date taken, author, copyright, title, description, keywords, and GPS latitude, longitude, and altitude stored in the photo.
- Those metadata values are used only to build the new filename on your Mac. If you insert a location token, the new filename can contain that location. RenameStudio does not upload it.
- Ordinary documents are renamed from their filenames. The app does not need to read their body text.
Information stored on your Mac
Preferences stay in local app storage and are available only to RenameStudio. They can include the interface language, rename options, and, if you turn on “Remember last search and replace,” the last search and replace text plus a short list of recent terms.
That history never leaves the Mac. Settings includes a reset that clears it. Deleting the app removes these preferences.
Command-Z can undo the last successful batch during the same launch. The undo list is kept in memory and discarded when you quit.
File access
RenameStudio uses the macOS App Sandbox. It can read and rename only files and folders you select or drop in. Access lasts for the current session. After you quit, you choose the files again. Hidden files and symbolic links are skipped. The app does not keep a separate copy of your files.
Purchases
RenameStudio is a one-time purchase with no subscription. Apple processes the payment. The developer does not receive your card number, billing address, or Apple ID. Apple’s privacy policy covers the App Store transaction.
Sharing
The developer does not sell, rent, or share personal information. The app includes no third-party analytics, advertising, or cloud SDK.
Children
RenameStudio is a general file utility. It is not directed at children under 13, and the developer does not knowingly collect personal information from anyone.
Your choices
You decide which files to add. Leave EXIF and XMP/IPTC tokens off if you do not want photo metadata, including GPS coordinates, placed in a filename. Turn off remembered search and replace, or reset the app, to clear local history. Delete RenameStudio to remove local preferences.
Because the developer does not hold your files or metadata on a server, there is no remote copy to access, export, correct, or delete.
International use
The developer does not transfer your files or metadata to another country, because the developer never receives them. Processing happens on the Mac where you use the app.
